What goes better than summer and ice-cream?

Summer and free ice-cream!

And that’s exactly what loads of people will be getting if they turn out to

two very special fun-days in Tyldesley.

To celebrate the town’s annual ‘Fun in the Sun’ events on Thursday 12th

August and Friday 13th August, organisers will be laying on a free cone, candy

floss and slushes for the first 150 people to arrive each day.

The event is being funded by the Tyldesley ward councillors and includes a

summer-spectacular marquee complete with Punch and Judy show, donkey-rides,

face-painting and dancing.

At Thursday’s event Real Radio presenters Ditchy and Salty will be spinning

the discs and entertaining the crowds.

Speaking on behalf of the ward councillors, Cllr Keith McManus says: “We are

hoping for a great couple of days in Tyldesley. This annual event is always a

lot of fun.

“We have tried to make sure that we have included something for everyone one

and there’s free ice-cream as well…now that really does take some licking!”

The fun begins at 11am and goes on until 5pm each day.
