    Does this make me a warmonger? Doe's this mean I agree with theft from the British people? Doe's this mean I believe in Islamic Colonilisation and a Genocide of the British people?

    No, it just means that, like millions of other voters, you fell victim to their PR machine.

    It is now obvious that the "big 3" are now virtually identical, in terms of policy and make the hated Thatcher look like a loony left liberal (not lib dem), so if anyone votes for any of them in the election, they will be voting for more of the same.

    None of them are fit for purpose, but the vast majority of the electorate are either not bothered, or too dim to realise this.

    We need proportional representation now!

    I'm going to either vote for parties outside the so called big three (as they put it, they just seem old and out dated parties to me), or I'm going to vote for an independent because I agree with "frjack," that the big 3 are identical..........

    Basically if you think about it, if the main (old, outdated) three parties are the same, then really we do not have a democratic choice if we vote for either of them........ That leads to dictatorships...........

    Vote for change, vote for someone outside the box I'd say..........!!!!!

    Because politices wasWhen politicians were not paid you had to be wealthy to become an MP, and most councillors were white middle class men over sixty. So, it was decided to pay politicians, in order to achieve better representation of workers, women and minorities.
    Now, as long as they can get elected, politicians can be professional politicians, with no other occupation or profession. They can live on their pay and expenses. The parties “tax” their politicians to fund their campaigns.
    The result of this is that (a) professional politicians have to get re-elected to maintain their income, and therefore will do anything to keep their party’s backing (b) the political parties do not need income from membership fees.
    So, people like Tony Blair can choose a career in politics first, and which party to join second; and politicians can ignore the ordinary party members’ views, just as long as they can get a majority vote and therefore re-elected. Therefore at election time politicians will say anything they think will get them re-elected.
    Once Tony Blair was prime minister he could do almost anything he wanted. However, the Iraq war was so obviously wrong that even he could not get enough Labour MPs to vote in favour of the war for it to pass without the backing of the Conservative Party.
    Iraq was a war not backed by the electorate, the Labour Party or the Parliamentary Labour Party. It really was George Bush and Tony Blair’s war. Backed by right wing groups, oil money and other people who would make money out of the war.

    @davidpwelch:

    When you say "right wing groups", are you using the term "right wing" correctly, as an economic measure, or making the mistake that 99% of the country make, in associating it with racism and totalitarianism?

    If it's the first, then you should bear in mind that the "big 3" are all verging on being FAR right and many of their members are also profiting from the war, especially those MPs who support it - they get to keep a fat wage, you see!

    There are so many vested interests, too; those who want to perpetuate a climate of fear, in order to remove the few remaining civil liberties we have left, those who profit from this, as suppliers of the infrastructure (cameras, scanners, etc.).

    All this is going to continue, until we turn round and say "enough!". However, the ballot box will not get the message across - we need to end the general apathy and motivate ourselves to get out there and say "no more!" to the politicians, authorities and those who will not live by our laws and want them changed to suit their culture (which is now a factor in the terrorism plots).

    Whoever you vote for it makes no difference as they just do what they want.It seems to me that politicians are more bothered about them making money and getting huge pensions when they lose their seat at the next electios.
