If Demos is "Marxist" and linked to Burnham, then something is wrong.
The fact is that all the main 3 parties are are very right-wing. So far, in fact, that they make Thatcher look like a communist.
Therefore, associating either Burnham, or his party with the Left is massively erroneous.
Please don't also make the mistake that increasing numbers make of associating racism and fascism with the term "far right", as this, too is incorrect. "Left" and "Right" are economic measures associated with socialist and capitalist policies, respectively.
Racism, fascism (NOT the same thing!), totalitarianism, liberalism (Not associated with the LibDems) and anarchism are independent of Left and Right and can equally apply to parties and organisations of either persuasion. Examples are: Russia under Stalin (racist, totalitarian very left wing) the Nazis (racist, totalitarian slightly right of centre and to the left of Thatcher) BNP (racist, yet only as authoritarian as the main 3 parties and fairly left of centre) the main 3 UK parties (alarmingly right wing, further than Obama, and very quickly and stealthily heading towards totalitarianism) The ANC (almost communist and, surprisingly, very relaxed and liberal in some aspects) The Vietnamese Communist party (left wing, but surprisingly their perceived totalitarianism is balanced by surprisingly liberal attitudes).
As Demos do not appear to advocate the seizure and nationalisation of privately held business and assets, they are patently not Marxist - they actually espouse progressive conservatism, which is the exact policy of the Tories! This means the application of the "Marxist" epithet is, in fact, so massively erroneous that it makes anyone doing this appear to be massively uninformed and irrational.
Please don't take this as a personal attack, but rather, a suggestion that you take more time to engage in balanced, thorough research, if you wish to make statements or accusations.
