Getting Back in2 Badminton couldn’t be easier!

Badminton is now even more accessible and easier to get involved with. Wigan Sports Development in partnership with Badminton England and other local badminton clubs are offering the opportunity to play social badminton around the borough. The sessions cater to adults of any age or playing ability, from relative beginner to regular players who doesn’t have the time to find a club or partner.

Each week the project aims to get more people active and enjoying Badminton. You can turn up without having to register with a club, book in advance or find equipment (some rackets can be provided). You can then play against numerous different opponents and gain guidance on how to improve, learn the rules and develop your badminton skills, whilst enjoying a friendly and engaging environment.

Richard Smith – Wigan Sports Development says “The Back 2 Badminton programme has been a major success. The project enables anyone of any playing standard or fitness to turn up and play and get the most out of the sport”

Vicki Maltby – Regional Officer for Badminton England said “Back 2 Badminton is a fantastic opportunity to get back into or try for the first time this exciting sport and the fact that there is now 4 sessions running across Wigan and Leigh, there is no excuse not get involved.”
