LEIGH HAS BECOME VULNERABLE.

Leigh now being only a Township has become vulnerable.

It has been badly weakened by the Council. 

I David Hull attended the 'Keep Leigh in Leigh' campaign meeting on Saturday the 24th Sept 2011 & immediatly thought, "Hang on a minute, this all sounds very familiar".  In 2010 myself along with a few others ran a SAVELEIGH campaign, in which 5,240 Leythers signed a petition to encorouge the return of our Leigh Council.

The 'Leigh Petition' as it was called was presented to Wigan metro in 2010.Google 'David Hull Leigh Petition' and click on images to access the info & photos.  I do wish Andy Burnham & Trevor Barton every success in their efforts & do hope most sincerely that they get a better result than I did.

By the way, where is Lord Smith?

Wigan Metro has for over 37 years, being dominated by one party, has run down the status of Leigh into becomming only a Township rather than a Town.  This created weakness which has played right into the hands of the people who care even less about Leigh & has has made it much easier for them to rubbish Leigh.

Mr Burnham & Mr Barton should wise up & break their links with people who have undermined our TOWN of Leigh & its people for years.
